For forty years, Lonsdale Quay Market has been at the heart of the North Shore waterfront. Originally created as a vibrant marketplace for Expo 86, The Quay has grown into a defining gathering place in Lower Lonsdale, welcoming generations of locals and visitors alike. Since opening its doors on April 12, 1986, The Quay has reflected the spirit and diversity of the community that surrounds it. From the early days of a carnival-inspired market to the dynamic destination it is today, it has remained a place to connect, to celebrate local makers, and to take in some of the most remarkable views in Vancouver.
As we mark our 40th anniversary, a new chapter begins. The Food Hall represents a bold evolution of The Quay experience. This reimagined culinary hub introduces a modern, licensed gathering space with expansive seating, panoramic harbour views, and a dynamic atmosphere designed to bring people together. Rooted in history and inspired by what lies ahead, The Quay honours its past while confidently looking to the future. Forty years strong and still evolving, we remain committed to what has always made this waterfront destination special: community, connection, and an authentic taste of the North Shore.
Thank you for being part of our story. The best is yet to come.
