LATIN HERITAGE APPRECIATION

LATIN HERITAGE APPRECIATION

Latin Heritage Appreciation

In celebration of Latin-American Heritage Month, we are sharing a first look at the upcoming mural presented by the incredible team at Latincouver. This magnificent piece is created by artist Ari De La Mora, a figurative Mexican painter based in Vancouver. She was inspired by the public’s suggestions garnered by their heartwarming memories and experiences. Pictured is a collection of images, symbols and quotes that collectively represent this amazing culture and heritage.

Depicted in the mural are 3 beautiful women that are Latino Canadian, the first from Columbia, second from Mexico and the third from the Dominican Republic. All 3 models are from Vancouver and were invited down to Ari’s studio to be photographed for the mural.

The detail in this mural is incredible! Every element represents an important aspect of Latin American culture from festivities, food and animals to art, music, literature and dance!

The pink dolphins are real! You can find them in the Amazon lake in Columbia!

The hummingbirds represent a legend of a Mexican warrior being reborn into a hummingbird. The beautiful blue background represents the same shade of blue found in numerous houses in Latin America and the ocean. And, of the cute llama is from Peru!

Make sure you come down to take a photograph with this stunning mural when it’s completed. See you at the Quay!
