05 Mar Spring Break at the Market
It’s almost Spring Break and the Market has a ton of fantastic activities for the entire family! The kids may look forward to spring break, but as a parent, spring break can be a bit stressful. Planning a full day of entertainment is time consuming and it is hard to come up with new ideas to keep the little ones occupied.
This is where the Market comes in, we’re a very family-friendly attraction. We have the children’s play area on the Retail Level, the team at Olde World Confections is always cooking up something sweet and a wide variety of food vendors for every palate.
The Market is definitely worthy of being added to the spring break itinerary. See below for a list of our favourites here at the Market!
Have your little ones been to the Kid’s Play Area? If not, Spring Break is definitely the time to check out the fun. Located on the Second Floor Retail Level our play area includes a toddler play area, an exciting indoor playground and an area of seating for the parents too! We also have tons of fun kids rides available on the Retail Level too.
Fun and Games
Don’t know where to take the kids during Spring Break? Stop by the Market between 10am to 3pm from March 18th to March 29th and play board games with a view! A wide range of games including Jenga, Monopoly Deal, Twister, Uno, Checkers and more, will be available at the Visitor’s Center located on the Market Level to rent and play.
This year on Wednesday, March 27th CBC Vancouver will be hosting a fun kids scavenger hunt! The Mystery Lunch Box event allows kids and parents to learn more about the community’s neighbourhood. From 9am – 4pm an ambassador will be at the Market with prizes (while supplies last) for those that complete the scavenger hunt. Clues will be given out on CBC’s social pages, check their website for more information.
The Market has tons of food options. You can get a sandwich from Seb’s Sandwich Shop, Soup from The Soup Meister, a burrito from Cilantro & Jalapeno, pizza from Bowen Island Pizza Co., not to mention you can also get sushi, burgers, stir fry – basically anything you can think of!
If you want to make an event out of lunch you can also go around the Market and purchase things to make a picnic. With shops like Cob’s Bread and the Lonsdale Green Grocer you can out together a fun lunch quickly.
Make sure to check out our events calendar for upcoming Market events for the whole family! We have year round events for the whole family.
