Press Release: Savour 2017 at the Market

NORTH VANCOUVER, BC— Delight your taste buds at Savour, Lonsdale Quay Market’s exciting food and beverage festival on October 20 – 22, 2017. Explore the array of fine foods, from locally grown produce to imported delicacies. Rediscover the taste of Lonsdale Quay Market through workshops, seminars, showcases and Market taste tours. Market Tasting Tour: Explore the Market’s sprawling array of food and beverage options and meet the experts who prepare them. Sample both locally made products and imported delicacies, and learn about the processes of making and sourcing these culinary treats. Taste Vancouver Tours will be partnering with Lonsdale Quay Market for a special Savour Market Tour this year, on Sunday October 22nd, 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm.

Educational Seminars: This year`s Savour will host three informative culinary seminars. The Market’s first Moo + Brew event will be held on Friday, October 20th at 5:30 pm, with Green Leaf Brewing Co. hosting a Beer and Cheese pairing event featuring local cheese from Bowen Island Pizza Company. On Saturday, October 21st, at 3:30 pm, Artisan Wine Shop sommeliers will lead visitors through a Wine and Cheese pairing seminar, featuring locally grown grapes and high-quality BC VQA wines, as well as local fresh cheese from Vancouver Island. Then, on Sunday, October 22, at 11:00 am  local coffee connoisseurs, Bean Around the World, will show participants how to make the perfect cup of coffee anywhere they go.

Culinary Showcase: Saturday, October 21st features a culinary showcase from a selection of gifted chefs and experienced vendors from the Market. From 12:00-1:00pm, watch as chefs from Sharky’s Chophouse demonstrate the best techniques for cooking fall favourites. At 1:30pm, learn how to properly prepare, cook and serve fresh salmon from the experts at The Salmon Shop.

Hands-on Workshops: On Saturday, October 21, 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm, the talented florists of Margitta’s Flowers will teach participants how to create a beautiful Autumn Harvest themed floral centrepiece! There is something for the kids as well, with a fun sugar cookie decorating workshop run by El Dorado happening on Sunday, October 22, at 12:30pm, where kids can decorate their own sugar cookie to take home.

Kids Crafts:  Have some fun with food; children can enjoy making food inspired crafts and other fun artwork, on Saturday, October 21 and Sunday, October 22 from 12 pm to 4 pm.
