NORTH VANCOUVER, BC—This July marks the 30th Anniversary of SummerFest at Lonsdale Quay Market. July 1st to September 4th, visit the Market Thursday to Sunday experience free activities for the whole family. All events take place on the South plaza, overlooking the picturesque view of Vancouver’s skyline.

“SummerFest continues to be community building event for the Lower Lonsdale neighborhood”, said Lonsdale Quay Market President and Owner Gary Mathiesen. “It is nice to see families enjoying the free activities and the waterfront setting.”
This year, the Market introduces ‘Dinner & Outdoor Movie’ on September 3rd and ‘Just for Kids’ Day on July 10th. ‘Just for Kids’ day includes a visit from award-winning author and illustrator Scot Ritchie, and sing-along with CBC Will’s Jams star, Will Stroet. Earlier this month, Ritchie designed a window display for the Perform Art Studios showcasing the North Shore.

‘Yoga Thursdays’ with Lululemon, ‘Feel Good Fridays’,’ Dance Saturdays’ and ‘Concert Series Sundays’ all return to the SummerFest line-up. ‘Feel Good Fridays’ now features a variety of outdoor fitness classes from 12-1PM. ‘Dance Saturdays’ is home to Latin-infused dance sessions, as well as performances and demonstrations from Perform Art Studios.

The festival experience would not be complete without live music, ‘Concert Series Sundays’ is from 1-3PM every Sunday. Extra performances have been added to July 1st and August 1st. A few of the noteworthy performances to look out for, Canadian Idol contestant Greg Neufeld, Phonix Band and North Shore resident Colin Bullock, all grace the outdoor stage.

SummerFest is raising donations for Lions Gate Hospital Foundation. The foundation raises money for publicly funded health-care facilities and assisting with programs across the North Shore.
