Press Release: A Cultural Hub For North Shore Culture Days

NORTH VANCOUVER, BC— Lonsdale Quay Market is a Cultural Hub for this year’s North Shore Culture Days. Culture Days is a Canada-wide festival celebrating its seventh year. The event features three days of music, dance and art, all stemming from the contribution of numerous cultural groups and local organizations. For the weekend of October 1st -2nd, the Market will play host to a medley of performances and workshops. All events are complimentary and open to the public.
Saturday, October 1st, includes a variety of dance workshops from 9:30am to 3:00pm by local dance studio, Perform Art Studios (located on the retail level of the Market). The dance classes are for all ages 3 & up, and will include classes in ballet, jazz, hip hop, tap and musical theatre.
The line-up for Sunday, October 2nd, will be opened with the closing ceremony of Pianos on the Street at the South Plaza of Lonsdale Quay Market between 12:00pm to 2:00pm. This will be the Market’s first ever dueling pianos contest and the winner will take home the City of North Vancouver ‘s community Piano. Sean Pacey from Pacey’s Pianos will be judging the contest. From 3:00pm to 4:00pm, The Academy of Middle Eastern Dance (AMED) will be holding free Middle Eastern Dance workshops including Persian, Arabic, belly dance and samba.
